A state judge Wednesday ordered the release of 53-year-old William Plourde, who was fired from Sacred Hearts Academy amid allegations that he sexually assaulted a 15-year-old student. He was in custody on $200,000 bail awaiting trial. Circuit Judge Glenn Kim followed the recommendations of the court's Intake Services Center, which said Plourde should be released under the supervision of ISC and electronically monitored with a 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. curfew. He must also stay away from the Sacred Hearts Kaimuki campus. He was previously ordered by another judge not to have any contact with his alleged victim during his prosecution. The girl's parents also obtained a restraining order against Plourde prohibiting him from contacting their daughter for three years.
