The verdict is in....a jury has found James Dorsey of Waianae guilty of negligent homicide for the crash that killed a Honolulu Police officer in 2011. Dorsey says he has no recollection of the crash, which happened after he fell asleep behind the wheel and veered off the road near Ko Olina. Prosecutors argued Dorsey should have pulled over because he knew he was too tired to drive. The defense argued that he should not be held criminally liable for falling asleep while driving. Dorsey's Toyota Tacoma slammed into a police cruiser parked on the side of the road, killing officer Eric Fontes.
