A Kalihi man was charged yesterday in a case in which he allegedly shattered a 43-year-old man's windshield with a baseball bat. Forty-five-year-old Leighton Kumai thought the man had stolen tools from his nephew's truck. He allegedly followed the man just before 9:30 p.m, then blocked him in traffic and allegedly shattered the man's window using a baseball bat. He was arrested at 10:15 p.m. and charged with first-degree criminal property damage. His bail was set at $30,000.
